This week, the San Felipe Baptist Association is excited to celebrate Greg Murks, Lead Pastor of Pecan Grove Baptist Church, as our Pastor of the Week. Pastor Greg’s life and ministry reflect a deep love for Jesus, a compassionate heart for people, and a steadfast commitment to seeing the gospel transform lives both locally and globally.

A native of Alabama, Greg’s southern roots are never more evident than during football season, when his passion and loyalty are on full display. Yet even more evident than his love for the game is his deep passion for the lost and the hurting. Greg consistently leads with a shepherd’s heart, calling the church to look beyond its walls and actively engage the needs of the community.

Pastor Greg serves as a board member for Attack Poverty, partnering with churches and organizations to bring hope and tangible help to families in the Richmond and Rosenberg areas. Under his leadership, Pecan Grove Baptist Church is known for its commitment to serving those in need and living out the gospel through compassionate action. Greg also carries a strong heart for global missions, regularly traveling to Belize and other nations to encourage, serve, and share the hope of Christ.

At the core of Greg’s ministry is a clear desire for people to know Christ and for the church to be mobilized to tell others about Jesus. Whether he is investing in leaders, studying and preparing for each week’s sermon, serving in the community, or building relationships across the globe, Greg approaches every opportunity with intentionality and faithfulness.

Despite a full and demanding schedule, Greg deeply values his role as a husband and family man. He is married to Anna, and together they model a life of devotion, balance, and service. There is rarely a moment when Greg is not pouring into others, yet he does so with joy, humility, and an unwavering trust in the Lord.

We are grateful for Pastor Greg Murks and his faithful leadership. Thank you, Greg, for your heart for the gospel, your love for people, and your tireless service to the Kingdom of God.
