Celebrating Pastor Rob Lyerly — Pastor of the Week

This week, the San Felipe Baptist Association is delighted to recognize Pastor Rob Lyerly of First Baptist Church of Katy, Texas, as our Pastor of the Week. Pastor Rob is a devoted follower of Christ whose heart beats passionately for people to know the Lord and to become disciples who make disciples. His love for missions and his commitment to engaging his church in reaching those who need to hear and respond to the Gospel is truly inspiring.

Under Pastor Rob’s leadership, First Baptist Katy has become a beacon of hope and help in the community. He regularly partners with local ministries and community leaders, seeking to make Katy a better place to live, work, and worship. Through his vision and guidance, the church is experiencing a season of growth, both spiritually and numerically, as more people encounter God’s love and truth.

Pastor Rob is also a man of prayer, often pausing in the middle of a conversation to lift up a concern someone has shared with him. His deep dependence on God and his attentiveness to others reflect the heart of a true shepherd.

Before answering the call to vocational ministry, Pastor Rob was a talented baseball player, drafted by the New York Yankees in 2009. While he loved the game, his faithful and obedient heart led him to follow the Lord’s calling into pastoral ministry—a decision that has blessed countless lives.

When he is not preaching, teaching, or studying God’s Word, Pastor Rob enjoys time with his wife and two daughters, who are the joy of his life. He cherishes watching them grow, participate in ballet, and engage in the activities that bring their family closer together.

We celebrate Pastor Rob Lyerly for his faithful leadership, servant’s heart, and dedication to God’s Kingdom. His love for Christ, commitment to discipleship, and care for the community make him a true blessing to First Baptist Katy and to the San Felipe Baptist Association.
