Celebrating Jesus Christ, Our Good Shepherd — Pastor of the Week

As we enter this sacred season and celebrate the birth of our Savior, the San Felipe Baptist Association joyfully lifts up Jesus Christ—our Good Shepherd—as the Pastor of the Week. Christmas reminds us of the breathtaking promise of Emmanuel, God with us. It is the season when we remember the glory of the Savior who stepped into our world to redeem mankind and to make all things new.

Jesus, our Good Shepherd, is far more than a great teacher or honored prophet. He is the living hope for all creation—the Lamb of God who came to take away the sins of the world. In Him we see perfect leadership, overflowing with both grace and truth. He modeled sacrificial love in its purest form, laying down His life so that we might inherit eternal life. Jesus willingly carried the sins of the world, and Scripture tells us He even praised His Father for the joy of giving His life for all who would believe in Him.

Christ was a devoted man of prayer, pouring His heart out before the Father—even to the point of sweating drops of blood. He prayed for His disciples, for His followers across generations, and for you and me, that we might know the Father and receive forgiveness.

He was also the greatest teacher who ever lived, guiding people to understand the heart of Scripture. He summarized the entire law in two simple commands that continue to define the Christian life: Love God and love people. No pastor in history has ever matched His standard, nor should they—because Jesus alone can love, lead, and redeem the way He does.

As we celebrate His humble birth—the manger that held the King of Glory, the angels who proclaimed His arrival, the wise men who sought Him—we give thanks for the Christ Child who was, and is, and is to come. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the greatest gift ever given, and the source of joy only God can provide.

Merry Christmas to our Pastor of the Week—Jesus Christ, our Good Shepherd!
