Pastor Appreciation DaySunday, October 12,2025 "Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching." 1 Timothy 5:17 Many of us can look back on our lives and remember when a loving, caring, encouraging pastor was there for us when we needed him most. Maybe it was when you professed Christ and your pastor baptized you. Or perhaps it was when you thought all hope was lost, and your pastor showed up with wisdom and grace for that very moment. Maybe he walked with you through a major life change—your marriage, the birth of your first child, a medical crisis, or even the loss of a loved one. Whatever the case, your pastor was there for you then and will continue to be there for you in the days ahead. Each week, your pastor spends countless hours studying, praying, writing, and seeking God’s guidance to teach the truths of His Word. Every sermon is prepared with you in mind—hoping God will use it to bless and transform your life through Jesus Christ. Why does he do this? Sunday, October 12, 2025, is Pastor Appreciation Day. Let’s take time to thank our pastors for their love, their faithfulness, and their commitment to serving God and His people. A note, a meal, a kind word, or simply your prayers can mean the world. Let’s make this Pastor Appreciation Day truly special! |

Pastor of the Week: Norberto GomezChurch Consultant - Tuesday, October 7, 2025 Pastor Gomez wears many hats, and he does so with grace, passion, and commitment. He serves as an interim pastor, a church growth consultant, and a trainer of leaders—investing in deacons, search committee members, and Sunday school teachers so that churches can be healthy and equipped for ministry. His heart for training others reflects his deep belief that every believer has a role to play in advancing the Kingdom. Even beyond his church-related work, Pastor Gomez demonstrates an inspiring balance of creativity and analytical skill. In his full-time profession as a data analyst, he brings precision and insight to complex problems. In ministry, he blends that sharp analysis with a creative, Spirit-led approach that helps churches discover fresh vision and practical solutions. He is a wonderful reminder that God uses all of our gifts, talents, and experiences for His glory. For more than ten years, Pastor Gomez has faithfully served the San Felipe Baptist Association, consulting in numerous areas of church health. His ministry has been especially valuable to our Spanish-speaking congregations, where his wisdom, encouragement, and leadership have made a lasting difference. Tirelessly, he pours himself into others because he loves God, loves his family, and loves the local church. We give thanks for Pastor Norberto Gomez and his example of dedication and service. His passion for the gospel, his heart for churches, and his commitment to equipping leaders continue to bless the work of our Association. Today, we celebrate him with gratitude and joy, thankful for all he has done and continues to do for the Kingdom. For more infomation visit:

What is an Anual Church Profile (ACP)?
Each year, the Texas Baptist(BGCT) and the Southern Baptist of Texas(SBT) encourage their member churches to share what God is doing in and through their churches. Data collected includes baptisms, attendance, giving data, and other metrics that help the state conventions better understand church health in our state. This data is also useful in determining budgets, ministry focus areas, and other ministry-related events and activities that your state convention is involved in, as well as helps these conventions gauge the effectiveness of previous or ongoing focus areas. Church leaders are encouraged to complete the Annual Church Profiles. |
