Joe Bonham III

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Joe Bonham III, longtime treasurer of the San Felipe Baptist Association, who faithfully served for more than a decade. Joe passed away peacefully on the morning of November 1, 2025, at the age of 91.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Joe was known for his gracious spirit, wisdom, and joyful presence. A proud graduate of the University of Texas (Class of 1957), he met his beloved wife, Shirley, during college and later served honorably in Korea with the U.S. Army. Together, they built a life of faith and service in Richmond, where Joe dedicated himself to First Baptist Church of Rosenberg and numerous community organizations.

Joe’s strong faith in God guided every part of his life. We mourn his passing, but we do so with hope, knowing that Joe knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and now rests joyfully in His presence.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel in Rosenberg. Joe will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
