Pastor of the Week: Romy AdduruSummit Christian Church - Tuesday, October 14, 2025 This week, the San Felipe Baptist Association joyfully celebrates Pastor Romeo “Romy” Adduru of Summit Christian Church. Pastor Romy is a faithful shepherd with a deep love for God’s Word and a passion for leading others to know and follow Jesus more each day. Under his leadership, the Summit Christian Church family has grown in unity, love, and commitment to the gospel, reflecting his heart for Christ and his people. Pastor Romy brings a wealth of experience and leadership to his ministry. For 20 years, he served honorably in the Filipino Army, where he not only demonstrated courage and commitment to his country but also lived out his devotion to Christ in practical and meaningful ways. The discipline, strength, and compassion that guided him during those years continue to shape his ministry today. His journey from military leadership to pastoral leadership is a powerful reminder that God uses all of our life experiences for His glory and for the good of His church. As the pastor of a vibrant Filipino-American congregation, Pastor Romy works tirelessly to reach families across the Katy, Fulshear, and West Houston areas. He is dedicated to proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ while building bridges of fellowship and discipleship within the community. Those who know him best describe him as kind, generous, and deeply committed—not only to his church family but to everyone he encounters. Pastor Romy also models a life of continual growth. He is devoted to deepening his wisdom and knowledge of God’s Word so he can more effectively shepherd his people. His strong communication skills and compassionate heart make him an outstanding leader who both challenges and encourages his church to walk faithfully with Christ. We celebrate Pastor Romy Adduru for his leadership, his service, and his unwavering love for the Lord. The San Felipe Baptist Association is blessed by his ministry, and we thank God for the light he shines in his church and community. For more infomation visit:

Cost Effective Community OutreachLeveraging Partnerships to Serve Others - Wednesday, October 15, 2025 As church leaders, I know we are always looking for cost-effective ways to reach out into our community and draw people in. Mission Centers of Houston is an organization that I have partnered with to accomplish this very thing. Mission Centers run the Compassion Center located in downtown Houston. They have a partnership with several businesses, such as Walmart, Hasbro Toys, Frito-Lay, Nike, and Amazon. They receive shipments of overstock, out-of-season, and returned items in bulk. They offer these items, free of charge, to churches.I know this sounds too good to be true, that’s at least what I thought. They only have two stipulations. First, the items must be given away and in no way resold; this means that they can’t even be given to Goodwill. And secondly, you must report back to them about the event, or the way you gave the items away. This year, we held an end-of-school summer kickoff event. We called it Bless Sealy. We invited the whole city to come. I received 25 boxes full of things to give away. We spread it out on tables in our facility and invited the community to come in and take whatever they wanted. I held on to a couple of the higher value items, two brand new bikes, some electronics, and a first-up tent for door prize giveaways. We had Bingo, hot dogs, and some kids’ activities. We had over 100 people from the community come, and we were able to make connections and serve them. Our Youth Pastor has gone and gotten some higher-end items and given them away at youth events. They even gave us two 40lb. boxes of chicken tenders and a 30lb. of bacon that we utilized for a Missions fundraiser lunch. There is an application and interview/vetting process you must go through, but this was not complicated at all. My contact at the Compassion Center is a guy named David Cripps. You can find his information at https://missioncenters.org/TCC under the About tab at the top. Shoot him a message and start this process, and see how you can partner with them to help reach our communities.Terry WrightPastor of FBC Sealy. For more infomation visit:
