2025 Annual Meeting Highlights

- Thursday, November 5, 2025

On November 5, 2025, First Baptist Church of Richmond, Texas, hosted the 77th Annual Meeting of the San Felipe Baptist Association. Member churches gathered for a time of prayer, to discuss the business of the Association, and for equipping and vision-casting concerning the future collaboration of the member churches through our Association.

Here are some of the highlights of that meeting:

  • A great time of corporate prayer for the lostness of our communities, open pastor positions in our churches, wisdom for our ministries, and for Christ to remain the center of our Holiday Season.
  • A time of celebrating what God has done in the lives of our churches and pastors. There were great stories of God's provision, of people coming to faith in Christ, and other encouraging stories of how God is working in our Association
  • Our Annual Business Meeting Highlights:
    • The 2026 Budget was approved unanimously
    • A motion to suspend the rules to allow for a change in how the Admin Team functions this year, while revisions to the current Constitution can be made and presented in 2026, was approved unanimously
    • The 2026 Admin Team was approved unanimously
      • Jeff Klutz, FBC Needville- Moderator
      • Chris Jones, Faith Fellowship Of Fort Bend, Vice-Moderator
      • Rickesh Patel, West End Baptist Church- Treasurer
      • Romy Adurru- Summit Christian Church- At-Large 1
      • Antonio Munoz- Redeemer Community Church- At Large 2
    • The Calendar Dates for 2026 was approved unanimously
  • The Executive Directors' Report highlighted the vision and direction that our new Director is leading the Association.

Overall, we had a great time of fellowship, prayer, and collaboration for the gospel as we talked about how God is moving in our Association and how we can move forward together to accomplish the vision.

Our Vision
Churches Collaborating In Christ to REACH The Lost, RAISE The Next Generation Of Church Leaders, And REVITALIZE The Church.

The vision of the San Felipe Baptist Association is broken down into four elements that help focus our Association's ministry.

Collaboration

“May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 15:5-6

Everything in our vision and strategy is built on the foundation of Collaborating in Christ - doing the work together He has called us to do - to REACH THE LOST, RAISE THE NEXT GENERATION OF CHURCH LEADERS, AND REVITALIZE THE CHURCH. Everything we do is always better when we do it TOGETHER!

Reach

“...Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you...” Matthew 28:18-20

This is the mission. Four simple directives- go, make, baptize, and teach.Simple, elegant, clear, compelling, and timeless. This simple mandate is why we are believers today.  Someone carried out this mandate at some point in our lives and changed our eternity forever.

Raise

“One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.” Psalm 145:4

This is where our strategy of shared experiences, shared resources, and shared responsibilities can be beneficial. Many churches have a wealth of experience and expertise that is already a blessing to their congregation and could be a tremendous benefit to others within the association. Through intentional, collaborative efforts, we can develop strategies and mechanisms to help raise the next generation of church leaders.

Revitalize

“So the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the brothers living in Judea. And they did so, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.” Acts 11:29-30

Churches experience various seasons throughout their ministry. Sometimes, a change in season brings significant challenges to the health and vitality of the local church. Assessing the impact of each season is important to the present and future ministry of the local church. Through collaborative efforts, regular assessments, and strategic partnerships, we can develop strategies to strengthen, revitalize, and guide churches through various seasons of change.

As we look forward to 2026, let us remember that the God who has called us to serve has promised to provide all that we need to accomplish the goals he has for us. Thank you for supporting the work of the San Felipe Baptist Association as we strive to serve, support, and resource the gospel impact of the local church!

Celebrating Pastor Ken Collins: A Faithful Servant Leader in Beasley, Texas

The San Felipe Baptist Association is thrilled to recognize Pastor Ken Collins of First Baptist Church, Beasley, Texas, as this week’s Pastor of the Week! Pastor Ken is a shining example of what it means to lead with humility, heart, and hands willing to serve wherever needed.

As a bi-vocational pastor, Pastor Ken faithfully balances the demands of ministry, work, and family—yet somehow still manages to pour his time, talent, and energy into the people of Beasley. If there were ever a “jack-of-all-trades” in ministry, Pastor Ken would wear that title proudly. He’s not only the preacher each Sunday but also the IT guy, social media manager, maintenance helper, and encourager-in-chief. Whatever the need, he’s there to meet it with a smile and a servant’s heart.

But perhaps what stands out most is his love for the community. Under his leadership, First Baptist Beasley has launched a powerful monthly outreach called “Beasley Kids.” What started as a small effort has grown into a ministry that now reaches 50–75 children each month at the local elementary school. With just a handful of faithful volunteers, they provide snacks, build relationships, and most importantly, share the gospel with young hearts.

Pastor Ken’s kindness, generosity, and steadfast faith are evident in every aspect of his ministry. His example reminds us that impact isn’t measured by the size of a congregation but by the faithfulness of those who serve.

Congratulations, Pastor Ken! Thank you for your tireless dedication to the Kingdom, your love for people, and your unwavering commitment to making Christ known in Beasley and beyond. Your example inspires us all.
