Is your marriage built to last?
Marriage is an amazing gift from God—and for those blessed to find their perfect complement, you know just how true that is. Scripture reminds us of the sacred weight and beauty of marriage. Jesus declares in Mark 10:9, “What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” Marriage is not a casual arrangement; it is a holy covenant, lovingly designed and joined by God Himself. Husbands are reminded in Proverbs 18:22, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD.”Wives, too, are honored throughout Scripture, perhaps most beautifully in Proverbs 31:10: “An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.” Marriage is a sacred institution, given and blessed by God to unify husband and wife, to build families, and to reflect His glory. And yet—ask anyone who has been married long enough, and they’ll tell you the truth: marriage is a blessing, but it is also hard work. The couples who thrive are not the ones who avoid difficulty, but those who commit to doing the hard work together—as one team, one unit. Marriage requires energy, intentionality, grace, perseverance, and a deep reliance on God. Every marriage faces ups and downs, and sometimes even obstacles that feel impossible. But we must remember—nothing is impossible with God. Strong marriages are always worth the work. They bless more than just husband and wife. Strong marriages build strong homes, which form strong churches and healthy communities. They shape children, inspire others, and stand as a powerful testimony to a watching world. Who doesn’t smile when hearing of a 50th, 65th, or even 75th wedding anniversary? These stories remind us that marriage, though imperfect, can be God-honoring and deeply joyful. That’s why we invite you to invest intentionally in your marriage at the BUILD TO LAST Marriage Conference on February 28 at Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg. This one-day, collaborative event—brought to you by the San Felipe Baptist Association of Churches—will feature practical, biblical teaching from Dr. Chad and Dr. Erica Schapiro. For $50 per couple, you’ll receive a marriage workbook, additional resources, and lunch, all while being encouraged and equipped to strengthen your relationship. Invest in your marriage. Impact your family, your church, and your community. Senior Pastors and their wives attend free—email jon@sfbatx.org for details. For more infomation visit:
