The winds of change are blowing through the San Felipe Baptist Association, and they bring with them a sense of profound excitement and renewed purpose! Over the last few months, through fervent prayer and strategic planning, our leadership has been exploring how to best position our Association for the future. We are thrilled to share that on April 19, we reached a unanimous decision to sell our office building and reinvest those resources into the future ministry of our association.
Embracing a "Kingdom First" Model
The response to this decision was immediate and affirming. Within days of listing the property, we received multiple offers and are currently in the final stages of negotiations. We’ve also seen God’s hand in the details of our move. As we liquidated our office furniture and supplies, almost everything found a second life with local groups, including a wonderful Christian homeschool organization.
While our physical walls are coming down, our ministry is expanding. We are officially transitioning to a mobile engagement structure. This shift isn't just about a building; it’s about being where the ministry happens. For the past few years, we have already been holding our trainings and gatherings at our local churches, which has provided better facilities and more convenient locations for our members. By becoming "stationary-free," we can:
-
Increase Flexibility: Meeting you where you are, in the heart of our growing communities.
-
Financial Stewardship: Lowering overhead means more resources available for ministry impact without increasing the burden on our partner churches.
-
Future Readiness: Preparing ourselves for the rapid population growth in our region.
The Heart of the Association: Relationships
The true value of our Association has never been found in a brick-and-mortar office; it is found in the relationships and partnerships that bring us together for the sake of the Gospel. We are uniquely positioned to understand the needs of our local context, and this new model allows us to lean into those strengths like never before.
As we navigate this transition, we humbly ask for your continued prayers and patience. There will be learning curves as we discover what works best for our evolving environment, but we are confident that this path leads to greater impact.
